"FRIENDS" OF SALEH AL-SHEIKH WINS THE "OLD" PLAYERS CHAMPSIONSHIP
AND ALGHANIM "YOUTH" WIN THE KUWAIT INVESTMENT COMPANY FOURTH CHAMPIONSHIP
Last Saturday witnessed the end of the Kuwait Investment Company Fourth Indoor Football Tournament for the Young attended by His Excellency, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, the General Manager of the Sports Public Authority, Dr. Humoud Flaiteh, Kuwait Investment Company Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Al-Ali and KIC's Chief Executive Officer, Bader Nasser Al-Subaie and former national team stars Faisal Al-Dakhil, Abdulaziz Al-Anbari and Falah Dabshah, along with a number of public and sports officials.
The team of the Noukhathah Khalifah Shahin Alghanim was crowned with the title of champion of the Youth Tournament, by winning the gold medal and a prize of US Dollars 3500, after beating the team of the Noukhathah Mohamed Thunayan Alghanim in their last encounter 4-0. The runner up team was awarded the silver medal and US Dollars 3000, while the team of the Noukhathah Khaled Saleh Alghunaim came third and won a prize of US Dollars 2000 and the team of the Noukhathah Hilal bin Fajhan Al-Mutairi was the fourth, and was awarded a cash prize of US Dollars 2000 as well.
The team of Saleh Alshaikh won the Old Players championship by beating the team of Abdulaziz Al-Failakawi Friends in the final match 2-1, and was award a cash prize of US $ 6500, while the runner up team was awarded a cash prize of US Dollars 6000.
Abdullah Al-Ayyoub (of the Noukhathah Khalifah Shahin Alghanim team) was awarded the Best Goalkeeper Prize, KLhaled Ibrahim (of the Noukhathah Ahmed Salem Al-Khashti team ) won the Faisal Al-Dakhil Best Scorer Prize, while Omar Al-Musaileem (of the Noukhathah Mohammed Thunayan Alghanim's team) was awarded the Abdulaziz Al-Anbari Best Player Prize. The three players were honored by Dabshah, Al-Dakhil and Al-Anbari.
The team of the Noukhathah Mohammed bin Essa Al-Asfoor was honored with the title of "Best Team", the coach of the Noukhathah Hilal Fajhan Al-Mutairi Team, the Moroccan Yaseen bin Hussain won the Best Coach Prize while the Manager of the Noukhathah Khalifah Shahin Alghanim Team, Bader Al-Shummari was awarded the Best Manager Prize.
There was a drawing for two tickets to attend the final match of the World Cup 2018 in Russia, and the lucky winner was Humood Zamel of Kazima.
The attendees crowned the winning teams following the last match of the Youth Championship, in a thrilling ceremony held by the Championship Organizing Committee, thereby marking the closing of the competitions.
The celebration witnessed Kuwait Investment Company honoring the Tournament Patron, His Excellency, the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, the Geneal Manager of the Sports Public Authority, Dr. Humoud Flaiteh Earlier on, former star of the National Team and Salmiah Club, Bashar Abdullah, was duly honored.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, highlighted the role played by Kuwait Investment Company for contributing, for the fourth year running to the organization and success of this Tournament, participating in polishing the talents and experience of the players and underscoring the skills of the young players. He emphasized that this Tournament enhances the capabilities of the players who, he expects, will achieve excellent results in the near future.
Al-Hajraf thanked all those who contributed to the success of the Tournament which witnessed the efforts and participation of more than 500 players. He expressed the wish for the Tournament to be staged in the coming years in order to provide competent players to the various clubs, and the national teams.
In turn, the KIC Chief Executive Officer, Bader Nasser Al-Subaie, said he was happy at the huge success of the Tournament, in terms of the technical and organizational aspects, engagement with the public and media. He added that this huge success was the natural result of the effective cooperation of the organizing committee and the other committees involved, all of whom have made tremendous efforts in order to ensure a resounding success.
Al-Subaie emphasized that Kuwait Investment Company would continue to perform its role and duty toward society, sports and sportsmen in all fields of endeavor including the organization of a Youth Tournament every year.
In turn, the Tournament Organizing Committee Chaiman, Talal Al-Rashdan emphasized that the success achieved by the Fourth Tournament will enhance the chances and future of the young football players. He said he was pleased to announced that a number of promising talents have been discovered, and he is sure they will go a long way in the world of football.
Al-Rashdan announced that the next version of the Tournament would witness the participation of teams from ten GCC, Arab and European teams, in order to attain higher technical levels and ensure that our young players will gain valuable exposure to various football schools.
