Date: 04-Nov-2009 Kuwait Investment Company held a training course for its employees entitled "Fast Reading" lectured by an expert in training, at Radisson SAS Hotel. The session included the importance of Fast- reading and the basics of Fast-reading and some useful exercises that help in it, that because it becomes one of the required things in our modern world, saving to us a lot of time. The expert confirmed that the Fast-reading skill is one of the most useful skills in self-development, explaining that he had been disproved the common belief that those who read slowly understand more, on the contrary, fast readers exceed because they are getting ideas and information faster than those who read slowly in a specified time. He wondered who of us doesn’t want to read the newspaper faster? Or finishing work reports faster? Or even read anintellectual book faster than usual? Fast-reading does not mean misunderstanding the matter is that you increase the speed of your mind process while reading. And the expert explained that person can increase his reading speed by a little effort, pointing out that research has shown that the average person could make the improvement ranges between 50 to 100% in reading speed without losing a bit of understanding of the meaning of what he reads. The expert pointed out that there are three methods helping you to increase your reading speed, these methods require you to move your hand to keep track of lines, called "structured reading" These methods are, first, the safe movement of the hand as an indicator,it is suitable for difficult reading such as articles and detailed contracts and research, the second method was the semisafe in the hand as an indicator ,it suitable for informal work report , and the third is the close hand, it is for easy reading such as: newspapers, magazines and stories. In conclusion, the expert said: your reading speed of course, will not develop Once you see the lecture and exercise in it, fast reading usually needs developing , and habits are not acquired in a single lecture or even 10 lectures, stressing that the session will open the way to the serious in developing his reading speed. |
